All 30 approved business lenders

Lenders with a full editorial review appear first, in their ranked order. Everyone else follows alphabetically. Every name here met the same standard to be listed.

Our review

How a lender earns a place on this page

Plenty of lenders ask to be listed. A good share of them are turned away, and the reasons are almost always found in one of these five checks.

  1. 01

    Identity and licensing

We confirm the company is who it says it is, how long it has operated and that it holds the registrations its home state and lending activity require.

  2. 02

    Pricing you can see

The lender must be willing to show an APR and a total repayment figure before a borrower signs. Costs that only appear deep in the contract are a fail.

  3. 03

A contract a person can read

We read sample agreements for confessions of judgment, heavy prepayment penalties, automatic renewals and anything an owner would not expect.

  4. 04

    How borrowers are treated

We look at complaint history, public reviews and regulator actions, and how the lender responds when something goes wrong.

  5. 05

A real fit for small businesses

The products, amounts and requirements have to serve owners we actually hear from, from a two year old cafe to an established contractor.

Plain answer

What approved means, and what it does not

The word gets used loosely in commercial lending. Here is exactly what it means on our site.

It does mean

  • The lender passed all five of our checks when it was added
  • It shows pricing in writing before a borrower commits
  • It is reviewed again every quarter to stay listed
  • We would be comfortable seeing an owner we know apply

It does not mean

  • Your business is approved or guaranteed an offer
  • Every product the lender sells suits every owner
  • We lend money or make credit decisions ourselves
  • A lender paid its way onto this page

Business Loans Companies is a comparison site that connects owners with independent lenders. Each lender sets its own terms and makes its own decisions.

Inside the network

The kinds of business lending our lenders offer

Most lenders here offer more than one of these. Knowing which one you need narrows a list of 30 down to a handful very quickly.

Term loans

A lump sum repaid on a fixed schedule. Good for a defined project such as a fit out, a hire or a large inventory order.

Lines of credit

A limit you draw from when you need it and pay interest only on what you use. Built for uneven cash flow and seasonal swings.

Revenue based funding

Alternative financing repaid from future sales. Faster and easier to qualify for, usually at a higher cost than a loan.

SBA loans

Government backed loans with long terms and some of the lowest rates available. Expect more paperwork and a wait of weeks.

Equipment financing

The equipment itself secures the loan, which often means lower rates and approval for owners with thinner credit.

Invoice financing

Cash advanced against unpaid invoices so you are not waiting 30 to 90 days for customers to pay.

Staying approved

Approval is never permanent

A lender that was fair last year can change owners, products or habits. So every name on this page is checked again each quarter, and any one of these is enough for us to pause or remove a listing.

Questions

Approved lenders: your questions

What is an approved business lender?

On our site, an approved business lender is one that passed our five step review of licensing, pricing transparency, contract terms, borrower treatment and small business fit. It is our standard for listing a lender, not a promise that a lender will approve your application.

How many lenders are in your network?

There are currently 30 approved lenders. 10 of them have a full editorial review and score on our best rated page, and the rest have met the same standard to be listed here.

Which approved lender is best?

Fundivi is our highest rated lender overall. The best choice for you depends on what you need the money for, how quickly you need it, your credit and how long you have been in business. Our best rated lenders page compares the top ten side by side.

Do lenders pay to be approved?

No. A lender cannot buy approval or a better position. We may earn a fee when a reader visits or works with some lenders, which is explained in our Advertising Disclosure, but every lender has to pass the same review first.

Will contacting a lender affect my credit?

Browsing this page has no effect on your credit. Many lenders prequalify with a soft check that does not affect your score. A hard inquiry usually happens only when you submit a full application.

Can a lender be removed from the list?

Yes. Every lender is reviewed each quarter, and a pattern of complaints, regulator action, hidden pricing or a contract change can lead to a pause or removal. If you have had a bad experience, please tell us.

Does Business Loans Companies lend money?

No. We are a comparison site. We help owners understand their options and connect them with independent lenders, who set their own terms and make every credit decision.

30 lenders is a lot to read. We can narrow it.

Answer a few quick questions and we will point you to the approved lenders most likely to fit your business, at no cost.

Business Loans Companies is not a lender and does not make credit decisions. Lender approval, rates and terms depend on each lender's own review of your business. We may receive compensation from some lenders, which never affects whether a lender is approved or where it appears. See our Advertising Disclosure.
