Business Loans Companies wants every small business owner to be able to compare funding options easily, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.
Our standard
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines describe how to make web content easier to use for people with a wide range of disabilities.
What we have done
- Pages use clear headings, landmarks and lists so they can be navigated with a screen reader.
- Every interactive element, including tabs, filters, sliders and the Funding Match tool, can be reached and used with a keyboard, and shows a visible focus outline.
- A “Skip to content” link lets keyboard users jump past the header.
- Text and important graphics are designed to meet WCAG color contrast ratios.
- Meaningful images have text alternatives, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Comparison tables use proper header cells so their contents are read in context.
- Animations respect the “reduce motion” setting on your device.
- Pages reflow on small screens and remain usable when text is enlarged up to 200 percent.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible:
- Lender websites. When you leave our site to visit a lender, that company is responsible for the accessibility of its own pages and application forms.
- Third party images and logos. Some lender logos are supplied by the companies themselves, and their colors may not always meet contrast guidelines.
- Older content. We are reviewing older articles and will update any that fall short of our standard.
How we test
We check pages with automated accessibility testing tools, review them using a keyboard only and test them at different zoom levels and screen sizes. We review the site again whenever we make significant design changes, and we welcome reports from people who use screen readers and other assistive technology.
